Invitational guest lecture by Asst. Prof. Bruno Cunha from the Universidade do Porto

On September 29, 2026, the Health Informatics Lab (HI-Lab) at Kathmandu University hosted an invitational guest lecture by Asst. Prof. Bruno Cunha from the Universidade do Porto.
The presentation covered smart health research initiatives currently underway at his lab, focusing on the convergence of machine learning, artificial intelligence, and digital health. Following the lecture, participants discussed potential research collaborations between Universidade do Porto and HI-Lab, particularly in areas including protein binding, gait analysis, and reinforcement learning for systematic behavioral modeling.
The session was attended by HI-Lab researchers, postgraduate students from the Department of Health Informatics (DoHI), and PhD candidates affiliated with the NEEM project.
